Don’t Get Quished – Protect Yourself from QR Code Scams
Stay safe when scanning QR Codes
QR codes have become a convenient way to share links, menus, and more, but they also present a growing security risk known as "quishing" (QR code phishing).
🔗 Verify the Source – Only scan QR codes from trusted sources. Avoid codes in unsolicited emails or unfamiliar websites.
🔍 Double-Check URLs – Before you interact with a QR code, confirm the URL is legitimate. Be cautious if it redirects unexpectedly.
📱 Use Built-In Security – Many mobile devices and security apps have built-in QR code verification—use them!
🚫 Avoid Publicly Shared Codes – Be careful with codes found on posters or public spaces, as these can be easily tampered with.
